Police warn locals not to inspect storm damage amid threat of falling debris

In the capital there were a number of fallen trees - many of them cleared away relatively quickly.

In the Lothians and Fife emergency services were kept busy with numerous calls to fallen trees and damaged buildings.

At one point police urged people not to go outside and inspect the damage because of the risk of falling debris.
