Prime Minister confirms new frigates to be built on the Clyde

The Ministry of Defence says the contract will support 1,700 jobs in the city over the next decade

Five Royal Navy warships are to be built in Glasgow after the Prime Minister confirmed a multi-billion pound contract for BAE systems.

The Type-26 frigates will follow three already under construction on the Clyde.
