Protestors face fines as abortion clinic buffer zones come into force

The law was introduced after a long campaign by Back-Off Scotland.

Protestors gathering outside abortion clinics in Scotland could face substantial fines from today after new safe access zone laws came into place.

The new rules will affect 30 health facilities around the country.

Campaigners say the 200-metre “buffer” zones are essential in protecting women from potential harassment but pro-life groups have described it as a devastating day.
