Public to get say on introduction of Highland ‘tourist tax’

If agreed, the earliest the scheme could be implemented is Autumn 2026.

It’s been dubbed a tourism tax.

Now, the public is getting the chance to have a say in the proposed introduction of the Highlands.

The council says a “visitor levy” will raise more than £10m a year and be re-invested in the sector to improve services.
