After months of speculation, Rangers have been officially been taken over by a US-based consortium.
The investors, led by health tycoon Andrew Cavanagh and the investment group involved with Leeds United and the American football team, the San Francisco 49ers, have acquired a 51% stake in the club.
Their statement of intent is clear – to return Rangers to the top.
The consortium has promised a £20m injection of funds.
Rangers fans have welcomed the news, hoping it brings to an end a long period of upheaval and under-performance.
