Residents facing second Christmas in temporary accomodation after fatal gas explosion

The local MSP says everyone simply needs to come together to get things moving faster.

One year on from a gas explosion which killed a pensioner in a quiet Edinburgh suburb, residents left homeless from the blast are preparing for a second Christmas in temporary accommodation.

Meanwhile, neighbours across the street continue to be met with a stark reminder of what happened to their neighbours each time they open their curtains.

Homeowners have been told the properties could be demolished early next year, but they have been left questioning why it’s taken so long.
