Rural community calls for greater cooperation on deer culling

Controlling Scotland's wild deer population is crucial for preserving the natural environment.

Members of the rural community say the Scottish Government needs to work with them on how best to control deer numbers.

It comes after the government axed proposals to extend the deer culling season over fears pregnant animals could have been killed.

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation says it still has concerns about other deer management plans within the Natural Environment bill.
