The Glasgow-born Head of MI5 Ken McCallum has been knighted, and broadcaster Jackie Bird has received an MBE in the King’s New Years Honours list.
Other notable recipients include Olympic swimmer Duncan Scott and football legends Alan Hansen and David Moyes.
But the awards also celebrate people making a difference in their communities.
