In the lead-up to the Scottish elections, an initiative called Future Proof is helping tackle misinformation and disinformation, aiming to help young voters cut through the noise.
The project is run by the Scottish Youth Film Foundation and aims to help root out AI deep-fake videos and bot accounts pretending to be real people on social media.
Recent years have seen global attempts to disrupt elections, often through social media, and the issue has become more prevalent.
This time, the race for the Scottish Parliament has seen a group of young people stepping up to keep a check on the facts, and although we haven’t yet seen massive interference in an election here, the hope is that the more we all learn about it, the less chance there is of it gaining a hold.
