Scottish businessmen jailed for £12m cocaine trafficking operation

David Stephen and Shaun Brown, both 30 and from Hamilton, used their home improvement firm as a front to their cocaine dealing operation.

Two men, whose Lanarkshire company sponsored Motherwell football club, have been jailed for a total of 13 years and four months for running a £12m cocaine trafficking operation.

David Stephen and Shaun Brown, both 30 and from Hamilton, used their home improvement firm as a front and admitted being involved in the purchase, delivery and sale of the drug.

The pair appeared to be respectable with the logo of their DX Home Improvements firm featuring on the sleeves of Motherwell FC strips, however, they were both involved in the purchase and sale of 125kg of cocaine.

The duo were busted when police raided days before Christmas last year.

The pair posted on TikTok and Instagram showing a lavish lifestyle, matching Lamborghini’s, expensive watches, and first class flights.

Judge Lord Cubie sentenced each man to six years and eight months in prison on Wednesday. He told them: “You both showed the trappings of wealth”.
