The energy sector warns that while the headquarters of GB Energy in the North East would be welcome, it won’t undo the damage to the region from an increase in the windfall tax.
Business and industry leaders expect the newly created, publicly owned energy company to be based in Aberdeen – with an official announcement expected soon.
But some have urged the Government not to introduce the proposed tax increase on the oil sector in the Autumn Statement.
