Shell and Equinor to combine North Sea oil and gas assets

The new business will be based in Aberdeen with no jobs expected to be lost.

It’s a deal that’s set to create the biggest oil and gas producer in the North Sea – and, according to the firms behind it, sustain domestic oil and gas for decades to come.

Shell and Equinor have announced they will combine their regional oil and gas assets – including their stakes in the controversial Rosebank and Jackdaw fields.
