A human rights campaigner has been honoured for highlighting the capital’s historic links to the trans-atlantic slave trade.
Heriot-Watt University chancellor Sir Geoff Palmer was presented with the Edinburgh Award, which recognises those who’ve made an outstanding contribution to the capital.
He follows in the footsteps of famous winners including Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith and Doddie Weir.
