Snapshot inside NHS three years on from Covid pandemic

STV News spent the weekend speaking to both staff and patients in Fife.

Three years on from lockdown, new figures show the number of planned operations are up, but still nowhere near pre-pandemic levels.

Part of the NHS recovery plan is routine weekend working – with surgeries, clinics and scans all taking place on Saturdays and Sundays.

But unions warn staff commitment must be matched with investment.

There are plans for ten national treatment centres but so far, only five have opened.
