Storm Floris brings 80mph winds and disruption across Scotland

Scotland was battered by strong winds on Monday, with many cancellations reported on ferries, trains and flights.

Scotland has been battered by “unseasonably” strong winds as Storm Floris blew across the country on Monday.

Winds of up to 80mph have been recorded on west coast islands, but the Central Belt seems to have escaped the worst.

The amber weather warning caused disruption and a number of cancellations to ferry and rail services – with some flights forced to abandon landings.
