STV celebrates 65th year of broadcasting

At 6:12 on the 31st of August, 1957, the channel went live.

On this day 65 years ago, STV started broadcasting for the very first time.

And its been on air since, creating some of Scotland’s best loved programmes and covering the biggest stories in news, sport and entertainment.
