Residents in North Lanarkshire say they are increasingly worried about a smouldering, underground fire near their homes.
The fire, believed to have started in July, is at a colliery in Coatbridge, and is leaving back gardens coated in soot – raising fears about respiratory health. The local council says it could take some time to put out the fire.
STV News has been speaking to local residents about their growing concerns.
