When a young Val McDermid went to take out books from her local library in Kirkcaldy, she never could have dreamt that years later, she would be one of Scotland’s most celebrated authors.
But it’s that hope and imagination that she says is at risk as libraries across the country are threatened with closure.
She’s fronting a campaign encouraging people to love their local libraries.
