Weekend rail strikes averted but disruption to remain

The industrial action comes as part of an ongoing dispute over pay

There’s the possibility of some relief tonight for rail travellers. A series of planned strikes due to begin tomorrow have been suspended – though the decision has come too late to resume all services.

Strikes planned for every weekend through December are still going ahead, though, which one business says will be “disastrous” for hospitality.
