‘Why do we still have foodbanks?’ says new Kirk Moderator

She says, while churches are well placed in communities to organise help for people in need, there has to be a longer term solution

Foodbanks – often run by churches – have become commonplace across the country. But, the woman taking up the most senior role in the Church of Scotland says we should be asking why we’re still having to run foodbanks here in the 21st century.

Sally Foster-Fulton will takeover as The Kirk’s Moderator next year– and is urging us all to call on our politicians to do more to tackle poverty– and the cost of living crisis.
