TV presenter and campaigner Gail Porter has called for more support for people who are struggling with their mental health during the pandemic.
Speaking on Scotland Tonight, she said: “We’ve all been in the same boat, none of us are different from anybody else.”
“There’s a lot of people not working, they’re not making enough money.
“They’re frightened to talk out, they’re frightened to reach out and say I need someone to talk to.”
She added that although there is support available for people, the sheer volume of people seeking help means government should increase resources available to the services.
“They’ve been talking about money and the mental health service for a very long time, but no one seems to want to put money into mental health.”
