Pupil claims future ‘significantly affected’ by results process

Max Richards said the moderation process used to grade students was not a fair way to calculate results.

A high school pupil has claimed his future has been “significantly affected” by the exam results moderation process

Results were worked out using estimates made by teachers based on the pupil’s performance over the school year.

Max Edwards, who attends Kingussie High School, was awarded a B in Higher Art and Design despite a 97% pass rate in his prelim.

Max told STV News: “This has actually significantly affected my future.

“I just feel like it’s not a fair representation of my abilities since they’re not actually my results.”

He added: ‘They’re just what a computer and some of my teachers calculated.”
