St Johnstone job ‘too good to turn down’ for Davidson

The new Saints boss admitted it was a difficult decision to leave Gary Rowatt and Millwall.

The new St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson said it was a tough decision to leave Millwall and his coaching mentor Gary Rowett – but the lure of a return to McDiarmid Park was too strong.

Davidson replaces Tommy Wright as the Perth club’s boss and wants to hit the ground running as the squad prepares to return to training following the Coronavirus shutdown.

Youth will get its chance under the new manager – but he said he also has scope to enter the transfer market for more experienced recruits.
