The Scottish Government has issued guidance on the personal use of face coverings during the coronavirus pandemic.
They recommend people wear a face covering if they are “in an enclosed space where social distancing is difficult”.
For example when travelling on public transport or entering a shop where it is harder to maintain a two-metre distance from another customer.
This video explains that there may be some benefit in wearing a facial covering that can be made of cloth or a scarf that covers the mouth and nose.
The latest advice, is not mandatory and not a substitute for physical distancing, hand washing and respiratory hygiene.
