Work under way to dismantle NHS Louisa Jordan hospital

Opening in July 2020, the hospital has played a critical role in the fight against Covid-19.

Work is under way to dismantle the NHS Louisa Jordan after the temporary hospital was decommissioned.

The hospital was closed last Thursday after it was decided the facility was no longer required.

Opening in July 2020, the hospital has played a critical role in the fight against Covid-19.

Over 32,000 healthcare appointments have taken place at the hospital with more than 6900 healthcare staff and students trained at the site.

Around 175,000 people were vaccinated against coronavirus at the hospital.

Vaccinations will now take place at the Hydro within the Scottish Events Campus.

On Thursday, workers began to dismantle the hospital, with equipment such as CT scanners repurposed and transferred for use in other NHS facilities.
