Scotland’s experienced its warmest day of the year so far on Monday with some parts of the country seeing temperatures of up to 27.3c.
But while some areas will still enjoy sun on Tuesday and Wednesday, the country will continue to see changeable weather with low pressure bringing strong winds and heavy rain in places.
Hay fever sufferers may also notice high pollen level as the week goes on, it has been warned.
Insight Philip Petrie
Well we seem to have peaked too soon this week as Monday was our warmest day of the year (so far), however things are turning cooler and unsettled once again.
With winds coming in from a south to south-westerly direction, we saw warmer air moving in across the UK, and across Scotland we saw temperatures widely in the 20s.
Our previous warmest day of the year was recorded on May 11 at Cassley in the North Highlands with a high of 25.7c.
However, yesterday we reached a maximum of 27.3c in Aboyne, but even other areas beat the previous record as Fyvie Castle recorded 26.9c and Dyce recorded 26.6c.
Not everyone saw the warm, dare I say it hot, conditions yesterday as western parts remained cool under the cloud and stayed in the teens.
Unfortunately, it seemed to be a one-off this week, as things are turning cooler and fresher once again from today onwards.
Low pressure is approaching from the Atlantic, and moves through Wednesday and Thursday bringing with it strong winds, heavy rain, and lower temperatures.
Things remain changeable and unsettled until the weekend.
