A 12-year-old is amongst eight young people arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder at Kilmarnock bus station.
Police were called to the station on Green Street at around 9.45pm on Friday, March 20.
A 29-year-old man was seriously assaulted. He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment, and police confirmed the attack is being treated as attempted murder.
Seven boys, aged between 12 and 17, and a 16-year-old girl have been arrested and charged in connection.
All have been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said a report will be submitted to the relevant authorities.
