Ember has announced its latest route connecting Glasgow city centre to Edinburgh Airport.

The bus operator, which operates a fleet of electric buses, is looking to connect Scotland’s biggest city with its busiest airport.

The new E20 route between Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station and Edinburgh Airport will launch on September 2.

It will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing travellers on early-morning flights to use the service.

The route is described as “high-frequency,” with most services departing every 20 minutes, and it uses the M8 motorway.

From September 2, buses will stop only at Chapelhall and Livingston, with Harthill and Heartlands added from September 9.

If booking in advance, an adult single from Glasgow to the airport will cost £7.55.

In recent years, Ember has expanded its network with routes to all nine cities across Scotland, as well as routes as far north as Thurso, as far west as Oban and as far east as Aberdeen.

Ember has over 100 buses, which offer high-speed Wi-Fi, onboard toilets, reclining seats, and charging outlets.
