The A76 was blocked after a rush hour crash amid widespread fog on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Kilmarnock at 7.45am.
Transport Scotland confirmed the road is currently blocked at the Bellfield Interchange.
A crash left an overturned vehicle blocking the A725 Bellziehill.
Drivers were advised to plan ahead before making their journey.

The crash comes as parts of Scotland awoke to thick fog on Tuesday morning.
Transport Scotland warned drivers to “safely pull in” and park with their hazards on should their visibility become too poor to continue their journey.
ScotRail warned commuters to take care at railway stations on Tuesday morning.
“We’re doing our best to make sure platforms are gritted, but they might still be slippy,” a spokesperson said.

It comes as Storm Babet is set to batter Scotland with heavy rain and strong winds from Wednesday.
The second named storm of the season is expected to cause widespread flooding and disruption this week as many areas are still recovering from severe weather earlier this month.
