All jobs are to be lost at a manufacturing firm based in Renfrewshire which opened more than 50 years ago, a trade union has said.
Unite said Eclipse Blinds, based in Inchinnan, was to close its doors in June this year with around 40 members of staff made redundant.
The firm, bought over by Dutch company Hunter Douglas in 2022 as part of a £15.5m deal, has been operating since 1970.
The factory, which manufactures various types of blinds and curtains, will end production in the summer.
Parent company Hunter Douglas is the largest window blind company in the world with distribution in over 40 different countries.
The Eclipse Blinds site near Glasgow Airport occupies 14 acres and includes offices, design and development, warehousing and distribution, and a finishing plant.
Lorna Glen, Unite industrial officer, said: “Unite can confirm that Eclipse Blinds site in Inchinnan will close at the end of June.
“It’s devastating news for everyone and we know that some workers have been there for over 30 years.
“Unite is working hard to represent our members to ensure that they secure the best possible redundancy package and are supporting workers throughout the process.”
Hunter Douglas has been contacted for comment.
