A man has died following a crash in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the city’s Carntyne Road after the incident that took place at around 12.35pm on Wednesday.

A 59-year-old, who was driving a green Vauxhall Insignia, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s family have been informed of the death and police are now appealing for information as they look to establish the circumstances of the crash.

Officers have thanked members of the public who stopped to help before the emergency services arrived and have asked any other witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help before emergency services arrived. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to contact us.”

No one else was injured in the crash.
