Metal wire has been found tied across a path on a woodland trail through Glencruitten Woods near Oban, just weeks after metal spikes were found in the same location.
Police are appealing for information after the hazard was reported on Saturday, 25 April, following the earlier report of the spikes on Thursday, 2 April.
Inspector Kirsty Moore said: “One line of enquiry is that these two incidents are linked and patrols are being carried out in the area.
“The metal wire was placed intentionally across the path and represented a significant danger to walkers, cyclists, dogs, horses and their riders.
“This kind of behaviour is not acceptable. If not seen it could have caused serious injury.
“We are urging the public using the area to be vigilant and report any similar incidents to us.”
Anyone with information can call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 1000 of Saturday, 25 April 2026.
