Appeal for witnesses as woman, 64, dies after being hit by bus

Investigations are ongoing following the death of a woman who was hit by a bus.

Emergency services were called to Barrhead Road after reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a bus around 3.50pm on Monday.

A 64-year-old woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

Police have issued an appeal for information as investigations into the incident continue.

Sergeant Adnan Alam said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at this difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Those with information have been urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2380 of Monday, August 18.
