A woman has been charged in connection with attempted murder after a 49-year-old was found seriously injured after falling from the window of a flat in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to Glasgow Street in Ardrossan around 10am on Thursday following reports of the woman having fallen from the window.
The woman was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment where medical staff has described her condition as stable.
A 45-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder and is due to appear before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, July 12.
Police are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances.
Detective constable Steven Kerr said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding how the victim came to be injured and it is vital that any members of the public with information which could assist our investigation come forward.
“We are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area of Glasgow Street around the time of the incident and may have witnessed what happened.
“We are also asking motorists with dashcams who were passing through between 9.30am and 10am on Thursday to please review their footage in case they have captured anything of significance.
