A man has been arrested following a fatal stabbing in a North Lanarkshire street.
Emergency services were called to Airdrie’s High Street in response to reports of a disturbance at around 4.40pm on Sunday.
A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, Police Scotland confirmed a 38-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the death.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A force spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a man, 38, has been arrested in connection with the death of a 48-year-old man in Airdrie.
“Officers were called to the High Street in Airdrie around 4.40pm on Sunday, April 12 following a disturbance.
“The 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
