A man has been left fighting for his life after being struck by a car in Glasgow city centre.
Emergency services were called to the George Street area of the city after a 40-year-old man was struck at around 10.50pm on Saturday.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his condition has been described as critical.
A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.50pm on Saturday, August 5, police were called to a report of a man injured after being struck by a vehicle in George Street, Glasgow.
“Officers attended and the 40-year-old man was taken by Ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe his condition as critical.
“A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and police enquiries are ongoing.”
