More than 250 prisoners are self-isolating at Barlinnie prison in Glasgow after six people tested positive for coronavirus.
Two inmates and four members of staff have tested positive for Covid-19, the Scottish Prison Service has confirmed.
The outbreak has affected the jail’s A Hall, which means visits to that part of the prison have been suspended until October 20.
However, visits in other parts of the prison have been unaffected.
A total of 256 prisoners are in lockdown, with a number of staff sent home to self-isolate.
Visits recommenced at jails across Scotland on September 28, subject to a series of restrictions.
