An award winning spa in Glasgow is set to reopen its doors and provide a “multi-sensory wellness experience” following a seven-figure revamp.
The Spa at the Blythswood Square hotel has undergone a refurbishment of its facilities to draw on influences from “rugged landscapes, crystal-clear waters and the natural beauty of the Scottish Hebrides”.
Featuring Scotland’s first snow shower, a Himalayan salt room, seaweed bathing and sound treatments, the upgrade makes it the biggest investment in a spa refurbishment made by IHG Hotels & Resorts in the UK.
The venue’s relaxation pools, crystal steam room, and hydrotherapy pool have been upgraded as part of the project, as have the spa’s nine treatment rooms.
Finlay Anderson, spa director at Kimpton Blythswood Square and area spa director for IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented: “We’re taking the guesswork out of the spa journey, and making the innovative simple: combining hot and cold thermal experiences with manual treatments, aromatherapy and visual therapy to take care of our guests wellness needs.
“Guests will not only be able to map out their thermal journey, but link it to a treatment and post-treatment nutrition during their visit.
“The concept – taking influence from the Scottish Hebrides and wellbeing benefits of nature – places Spa at Blythswood at the core of wellness in Scotland.
“Guests will be reminded of the rugged landscapes, clear waters and natural beauty, while the team’s experience has allowed us to develop meaningful, multi-sensory experiences for our guests.
“Our mission is to help each guest reconnect body and mind and achieve their wellbeing goal, whatever that may be.
“The elevated experience we’re offering at Spa at Blythswood Square provides a multi-sensory wellness experience to do just that.”
The spa will reopen to the public on July 10.
