A body has been recovered during the search for an elderly man missing for almost a week.
William Thom was reported missing from Bishopbriggs on Wednesday, August 5.
The 84-year-old, who suffers with dementia, was last seen on the number 57 bus on Bath Street in Glasgow city centre.
On Tuesday, police confirmed the body of a man was found near Wallacewell Road in Glasgow around 9.15am.
Mr Thom’s family have been made aware of the discovery.
Formal identification is yet to take place and a post-mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
