The body of a man recovered from a reservoir in East Dunbartonshire has been formally identified.
David Yates, 36, was wanted by police in connection with the murder of his partner, 35-year-old Marelle Sturrock.
On Friday, police confirmed a body found in Mugdock Country Park on Thursday evening has been formally identified as Yates.
The discovery came after Ms Sturrock’s body was found in a Jura Street property on Tuesday, April 25 in Glasgow.
Ms Sturrock was 29 weeks pregnant at the time of her death and her unborn baby did not survive.
A large-scale manhunt of Mugdock Country Park followed.
Yates’ death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Investigations into the death of Ms Sturrock remain ongoing however, there is nothing to suggest anyone else was involved in her death.
Officers continue to provide specialist support to both families.
