A body has been found in a river during the search for an Ayrshire man who was reported missing two months ago.
Jason Anderson was last seen on Friday, December 12 in Catrine at around 6pm and was later reported missing days later on December 18.
A multi-agency search operation, involving a police helicopter and drones, mountain rescue teams and officers on quad bikes, was launched to locate the 33-year-old.
Officers were alerted to the discovery of a body in the River Ayr near Failford in Mauchline at around 3.10pm.
Formal identification is yet to take place, however, Jason’s family has been informed.
His death is being treated as unexplained, pending the outcome of a post-mortem.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
