A body has been found in a wooded area in Motherwell during the search for a man who had been missing for nearly three weeks.
John Hutchison, 60, was last seen on CCTV leaving an address in the Shields Drive area of the town around 2.50am on June 23.
A body has been discovered in wooded area near to Excelsior Street, police confirmed.
Formal identification is yet to take place however the family of John Hutchison has been informed.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been found in a wooded area near to Excelsior Street, Motherwell.
“Formal identification is yet to take place however the family of John Hutchison last seen on Monday, 23 June, 2025 has been informed.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
