The body of a man has been recovered from Loch Lomond three days after he was seen entering the water.

Police and Coastguard were searching for the 83-year-old man, who disappeared on June 26.

A body was recovered from the water near the Isle of Inchlonaig around 3.25pm on Sunday.

Formal identification is still to take place, but the family of the man seen entering the water on Thursday have been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
