The body of a man has been recovered from a canal in West Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services received a report of a concern for a person in the water near Argyll Road in Clydebank shortly before 9am on Friday.

Emergency crews attended and recovered the body of a man.

Officers are currently treating the death as unexplained, and an investigation has been launched.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55am on Friday, January 31, we received a report of a concern for person in the water in the Argyll Road area of Clydebank.

“Emergency services attended and the body of a man was recovered.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
