The body of a man has been recovered from the River Leven in West Dunbartonshire.
Emergency services were called to the river near to India Street, Alexandria around 12pm on Thursday.
The man has been formally identified.
The discovery comes after a major search was launched for a man seen entering the River Leven at Renton on Saturday.
Police helicopters, the Coastguard and fire crews were involved in the search for the man, last seen a wearing a grey hat and dark grey jacket around 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland: “The body of a man was recovered from the River Leven near to India Street, Alexandria by police following searches around 12pm on Thursday, September 18.
“He has been formally identified and his next of kin is aware.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
