A suspected hand grenade found in a garden in Renfrew was exploded by bomb squads.
Emergency services were called to the Broadloan area around 7.30pm on Monday, following the discovery of a possible unexploded hand grenade.
The item was found in a garden in the town. EOD attended and removed the item.
A controlled explosion was then carried out at around 5.30am on Tuesday at a safe location nearby.
A cordon was put in place and no evacuations were required, police said.
