Prime Minister Boris Johnson has arrived at the SEC in Glasgow ahead of world leaders.
Nearly 200 countries are being represented at the Scottish Events Campus for two weeks of negotiations described as our “last best chance” to avoid climate catastrophe.
Johnson is expected to greet delegates from around the world on Monday morning before addressing the conference.
Johnson warned leaders at the COP26 summit that humanity has “run down the clock” on climate change and must get serious about action.
It follows the city’s bin collector strike being back on after a pay offer was rejected.
A statement from GMB Scotland said members plan to walk out at midnight on Sunday as high-profile guests begin to arrive in Glasgow for the summit.
