A boy has been reported after he was allegedly caught with a weapon in Kilmarnock.

Emergency services were called to Whatriggs Road at around 5.30pm on Sunday, May 11, after reports of a child with a weapon.

Officers attended the scene and reported a ten-year-old boy to the relevant authorities in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Sunday, May 11, 2025 we received a report of a child with a weapon in Whatriggs Road, Kilmarnock.

“Officers attended and a boy, aged ten, will be reported to the relevant authorities.
