A popular cocktail bar in Glasgow’s west end has made a plea for information after it was broken into and robbed overnight.
A window was smashed at 86 on Dumbarton Road shortly after 1.30am on Tuesday morning and the tills and staff tip jars were emptied.
The brazen thief was caught on CCTV inside the premises and an image of the perpetrator has been shared on social media by the bar.
In an appeal the owners said: “Not how we planned on starting the new year.
“Unfortunately we were broken into last night via a smashed window in 86.
“Our till and tips have been emptied so we are appealing to anyone who may have seen the person shown in the third slide or heard anything on Dumbarton Road at 1.30 am on January 8.
“This is a time of year which is already difficult for many hospitality businesses so any help or information would be greatly appreciated.”
Police confirmed that the incident was being investigated.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.30am on Monday, January 8, 2024, officers received a report of a break-in and theft at a premises on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
