Road closure continues after pedestrian's death in midnight crash

A Paisley road remains closed the day after a fatal crash between a pedestrian and a car.

Officers responded to reports of the collision at around 12.20am on Sunday, November 27, on Brediland Road.

A 63-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by attending emergency services.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

The force confirmed in a social media post on Monday afternoon that the road remains closed to allow a crash investigation to take place.

A statement read: “Brediland Road, Paisley remains closed to vehicles and pedestrians following a fatal crash on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

“Please use an alternative route.”
